*back dated entry*
today was one of the few days that i will wake up so early in the morning.... i woke up at 3am... my god.... so damn early..... cause we booked the van to go up 合欢山 to see sun rise... the taxi will picks us up at 4.15am... i was quite excited cause i heard there will be snow... but man... weather really very cold... i almost froze when i changed out of my pyjamas.....
after about 30min drive, the taxi first drove us to the highest 7-11 in the area which was an assembly point for all the tourists who want to go see sunrise...
we were 2000feet above sea level lea!!! |
after another 15-20min drive, all the different vans & buses will gather at an open area for a star gazing session.... although it was not the first time i went for star gazing, when all the lights were off, all we see were clear sky with numerous stars, it was really an awesome sight...
my camera wasnt powerful enough to capture the star... at least i managed to catch the moon... & some random person hand |
after star gazing, it took about another 45min+ drive to reach somewhere near 合欢山... we all thought that we would go to the submit to see sun rise but nay... all the buses stopped along the highway & we just stood along the road to see sun rise.... that was so damn disappointing... the bus drivers said the road to submit all jammed so could not go any higher... so sad....
the moon was still up |
the guide keep saying the sun will come up soon... but seriously... the sun was up already lo... or else how can the sky be so bright... but still give him benefit of doubts... so we waited till the predicted sun rise time = 6.40am.... & what we saw???
the so call sun rise |
there was like approximately 5sec of sun rise... my bf caught a glimpse of like 2sec then 2sec for me to react & yeah... i saw 1sec of sun rise.... then thats all... like omfg.... i woke up so damn early for 5sec of sun rise!?!?!??!?! & the weather was super cold!!! later that night when we went back to watch the news... that morning was -7degree at 合欢山 area... my god... no wonder i was frozen....i could hardly feel my toes... & i was like jumping around while waiting for the 5sec sun rise
all the tourists standing along the road to see the sun rise |
the scenery after the sun rise |
& then i never get to see snow!!!! KNS!!!! i guess all the drivers could see our disappointment so on the way back to hotels, we stopped over to see some of the left over snow on the trees....
the white thing was snow... or more like ice |
snow crystals |
more snow/ice on the tree |
so we reached back the hotel approximately 8am, we had breakfast then went back for a nap before going out in the afternoon.... so for lunch, we went to this stove chicken place recommended by the hotel owner....
rice+veggie |
famous chicken |
super oily bamboo shoot |
super bland mushroom soup |
prawn omelet |
we ordered extra omelet so the total price was 980NT for 3 pax... the chicken was nice but must be eaten hot, or else not nice... i felt the meal was ok... but it was compensated with the nice scenery outside the store
greenery |
nice scenery |
the guy put the chicken inside this stove to cook it... quite cool |
after lunch, we went to 青青草原, the famous sheep farm.... entrance fee was 180NT per pax
the entrance |
long walk up to the grassland |
first spotted sheep |
look at the amount of people at the show!!! |
horse/pony ride |
view from top of the grassland |
the stage for sheep performance |
sheep!!! |
sheep everywhere |
the grassland was quite a nice place to visit for a walk... sheep performance was not much but i think the main attraction was the interaction with the sheep... they are everywhere but they are just looking for food... & beware where you walked for their poo poo were also everywhere....
at the entrance of the grassland, there was a small market area whereby you can get some snack...
many stores selling pear... even bigger than my fist |
some roast chicken... looks nice but didnt buy since we just had chicken for lunch |
taiwan sausages... not really nice though |
so below the grassland, there were other farms... one small area was a honey shop... after that was the horse performance area....
more scenery |
windmill |
horse performance |
performance |
after that it was approximately 4pm+, we started to walk down the hill to the "town" area.... it was quite a long walk... after the farm area was the famous long flight of stairs... if i didnt remember wrongly was 481steps... really had good exercise for the day...
scenery along the way down |
sun set |
by the time we walked back to the "town" was about 5pm... so again... we tabao our dinner from 7-11... really lazy & tired to eat out.... in addition, we need to wake up early next day to go back to taipei.... so that marks the end of the 2 days adventure at 清境
