*back dated entry*
today we set off early to go to a more outskirt area in taichung = 新社..... basically the taiwan trip was planned by our friend so we just followed her around.... for today, we are going to visit some farms & have a relaxing day....
we first took bus #270 to 新二村 then rent a cab visit the farms in the area... the interesting thing about this 新社 was that you can rent a cab to go around the different places as taiwan is still a relatively big place and especially in a more outskirt area whereby there does not have many bus services to get around... for us, we paid 250NT per pax (total 4 of us) for a whole day tour, which i think was a good price....

first garden that we visited... free admission if you come with those cab driver |

quite a nice & simple garden but seriously nothing much to see so we stayed there for approximately 45min+ before heading to the mushroom farm for our lunch

so many mushroom!!! |
some story behind the farm |
lunch = different types of mushroom dishes... yummy |
the farm logo |
i would say this mushroom may be smaller than those found in singapore but it is definitely more spacious.... again, this place is free admission if you come with the cab driver... the food there was not bad and reasonable price.. so is a good choice to have lunch there... next, we moved onto a nice garden recommended by the taxi driver
the garden... nice hor... really got those english manor feel |
scenery |
the garden name |
i quite like this garden, it need 250NT for admission fee but then they will give you a 100NT coupon that you can spend at the restaurants inside, so is still a reasonable price for admission.... drinks there was really very average... not very nice but the scenery there was really nice... thats why quite a number of couples went there to take wedding photos..... our last location for the day was lavender farm....
the entrance |
the wishing xmas tree |
the lavender farm... i think weather not cold enough yet so the lavender not at full bloom |
this lavender farm is located at quite deep inside the mountain area so it took quite awhile to reach there... then the hill is quite high up so was pretty cold there.... the admission fee was 200NT but they give you back 200NT of coupons to buy anything inside the farm so was considered FOC entrance.... i guess if for people who really love lavender this would be a nice place but for me was average
to end off the day, we went to 逢甲夜市.... the taxi uncle dropped us off at the morning bus stop... we took bus #270 to 大坑圆环then walked down abit to change to bus #68 to go 逢甲夜市
this was the bus stop |

this shop sell nice bubble tea |

yummy onigiri |

yummy cheesy potato... must eat when it's hot |

bbq scallop... quite nice but slightly pricey |
some mochi thing... didnt taste as nice as i expected |
i would say 逢甲夜市was better than 一中夜市in terms of food choices... it actually somewhat like 士林夜市 but the down side about this place was that it is located quite far from our hotel so we had a hard time going back.... luckily for us, a nice bus uncle told us to take bus #28 to somewhere nearby which i forgotten the name... the place was near the mitsukoshi... from there we can change to bus #88 to go back to 台中火车站
loot for the day = all food |
