was really busy the passed month so hardly had time to blog..... so today i will post some back dated entries regarding my wedding preparation
as mentioned before, i went down to jasvy to print my wedding invitation cards about 2wks ago... so after all the email confirmation, my cards are ready!!! they are really efficient... i think it took like 3working days for ivy to call me that i can collect the cards... perhaps i never engaged their ribbon tying services so it kind of speed up the process....

previously i forgotten to take picture of jasvy... here it is... there isnt any signboard or whatever... so you have to recognize the unit number which is #04-06... today i met ivy for the first time.... i think she seem nicer than jason in the sense she gives the more friendly aura..... since i never asked for the ribbon tying... the cards, inserts & envelopes are all separated.... & she put all of them inside a big paper bag.... & 182 cards really weight quite abit...
after that i took bus down to textile center to buy ribbon.... cause me is being cheapo... since tying cause 30cent per cards & that will adds up to $54.60... of cause isnt a large amount of $ compared to the banquet but i want to save as much as possible... in case for those who didnt know... textile center sells quite alot of DIY stuff.... as the name suggest they do sell cloth but i am more interested in the smaller handicraft stuff like ribbons & beads.... & i bought my 50m roll of ribbon for $5.30... each cards will need about 50cm of ribbon, there will be excess but you need the length to tie... so for my cards i need 2.5rolls so i gotten 3 of them... that is $16.05 compared to $54.60.. i saved almost $40... of cause you have to DIY the tying & it wont be as nice as the professionals... BUT i still save $ *yeah*

tada... so that's the final product... i even google youtube video (attached below) on how to tie a nice ribbon lo.... i think it looks ok la... not super pretty but presentable la =)
after much delay, finally went down to print the wedding invitation cards.... we wanted to do it earlier but my mama said we should not give out the invitation cards prior to Guo Da Li, so we withheld the printing... but the guo ga li date is so close to our wedding, where the hell do we have enough time to give out all the cards by then... so we decided to go ahead with the printing first....

the
place is in between Kallang & boon keng mrt but i would prefer to
go from Kallang since there is less transfer for me... you can either
take a bus which i think is about 2 bus stops from kallang bus
interchange or walk & we chose latter....is about a 15min walk if
you do it leisurely.... cant remember which exit it is, but come out
from the left, walk backwards & walk along the park connector till
you reach the main road... walk along boon keng road & you will see
kallang place at the junction... blk 30 is the block closest to the bus
stop.... take lift to the 4th floor & turn left after you come out
from the lift & turn in... Jasvy is at somewhere on the 3rd or 4th
unit.... prior to going down, we try to get some review on jasvy & there arent much.... but we do notice afew saying that jason isnt very nice, very bo chap, ivy is nicer.... so i contacted ivy but we were greeted by jason.... i think i sort of roll eyes when i saw him due to the bad review but i kept my cool.....so actually if you are rushing or not so particular about the colour & all, you can just do everything via email cause jasvy will send you the template & insert via email... but kiasu me think that it is better & clearer to talk face to face so we went down....

so you can see that fairmont only has 5 card designs & i would say they are pretty simple & normal... since my mama say MUST use red so i only have 1 choice = red.... as for the inserts you can choose either white or pink paper... so naturally i chose pink cause mama say no white... *roll eyes* as for the wordings.. i think they are pretty standard but you can choose the 2 pictures on the inserts...
like all hotels, the wedding package will include free cards for 70% of confirmed attendance... at the moment we have approximately 24 tables so we are entitled to 168 cards & jason suggest us to print 10% more in case write wrongly or whatever... we took his suggestion... so each insert is at 20cent/piece... then the ribbon tying is additional 30cent/card... this 1 i am still considering, again cheapo me want to save $.... although 30cent doesnt seem like a lot of $, for 168 cards, it adds up to $50.40... not say a huge sum of $, but i can get like a roll of ribbons for afew bucks.... but probably i cant tie as nice as them la....
the whole discussion lasted like 15-20min.... i wont say jason is as horrible as what the reviews said but he certainly isnt a very patient person.... he does sound abit bo chap & give you the whatever lo feeling... but i think is still manageable since i will see him only twice = discussion & on collection date....
the cards + tying will take approximately 1 week so we are still way ahead of our wedding in Nov... BUT i really want to DIY the tying then i guess it is better for me to start early =)
