taobao batch for wedding stuff

well, i am sure by now many people would have known about taobao & today i want to share some of the stuff that i bought recently especially wedding stuff cause they are much cheaper to get from taobao than in SG....

1. bow tie @  9.9rmb each
this will be for the brothers.... i think they will look cute in bow tie & i gotten them the rainbow colour (including groom)

bow tie
2. vest @ 49.50rmb each
i think a simple vest will cost like SG$50 so i cant really afford to give each brothers a new vest here & since i not getting those tight fitting vest, i can just get them online.... there are other stores on taobao which sell nicer designs but so far this is the only site that i can find sizes that can fit the brothers, so yup... no choice... but it still looks nice =)

best man vest

3. kua hair accessories + bridesmaid corsages
so i am going to wear kua during the tea ceremony & i thinking very hard what hair accessories to go with it... of cause i can let my makeup artist decide but i dont think she has accessories that will match kua so i decided to get my own... & i go for those traditional look....
kua accessories
quite nice hor... so i gotten the 3 of them as a set.... lovely...

accessory+corsages

4. red bedsheet @ 268rmb
this is pretty pricey to me but then is still much cheaper compared to SG... & i cant seem to find a suitable design here, those kind i found at wedding shop will cost like $88 with weird designs & lousy quality.... so taobao solves my problem =)

actual design

5. room decorations
normally we will put those 喜喜word around the house during wedding but again those things are quite pricey in SG, so taobao is the saviour

room decoration stuff
6. reception+angbao box deco
since fairmont gave me a white ang bao box so i had to do some DIY to beautify it... i intend to just paste those paper flower on top to make it like a flower box... simple...
simple deco stuff
7. winter clothes
since we are going to japan for our honeymoon in end dec, we need to stock up some winter clothes... of cause i had quite a fair bite of winter clothing, i need a down jacket & so does my bf... so we gotten them on taobao since it's more expensive in SG...

bf down jacket

touch screen enabled gloves

boots

my lovely green down jacket

misc winter clothes

this batch order cost me like SG$300+, pretty expensive but at least i settled some of the wedding stuff =)

taobao batch 3

this will be the last batch of taobao orders before july, in order to complete my kimonos for the photoshoot.... supposed to get all my stuff in 2 batches but apparently some of the things i bought previously wasnt what i expect them to be & some of the extra items cant be found in SG... so have the get additional orders from taobao.....

batch 3 taobao orders
not much things for this batch... the most important things are the zori (japanese sandal), tabi (japanese 2 toes socks) & the black cloth for haori... the previous cloth i bought was way too hard... is like wearing a plastic sheet....

my zori
the zori is really pretty... it would be better if i can find the gold colour zori but sadly those gold colour ones are way too expensive... this beautiful pair cost about 88rmb which is S$18.50... not say very cheap or expensive but definitely something that i cant find in SG.... thought of wearing geta (sandal wore with yukata in summer) since i have 2 pairs but want the whole look for my photoshoot so no choice but to buy.....

fabric paints
another important thing from this batch is the fabric paints.. previously i gotten mine from art friends but i not sure was it due to the shifting or order problem... the choices of fabric paints are pretty limited now & for colours i want, they only sell in small quantity.... so have to get from taobao again... i dont know about the quality of the paint but they are definitely cheaper than here... for the big bottles which is 500mL, it cost about S$17 but in SG, a 59mL will cost like S$5... so much cheaper.... most importantly, i cant find the sparkling gold fabric paint (small bottles) in SG.... shall try out the fabric paint soon, hopefully they are good =)

second taobao batch

*back-dated entry*

yeah.... my second taobao batch has arrived!!!
my loot this time
compared to previous batch which mainly focused on buying cloth... this batch is more for random stuff & some material to make my headdress.... but most importantly for this batch is my 2 new bags =)
snidel!!! nice & simple bag
the samantha lookalike bag
really love these 2 bags.... i feel that i am a very practical person... i dont believed in spending a few thousands on a bag... the samantha lookalike bag cost me about SGD50 which is actually my most expensive bag so far.... i think as long as the bag look nice & of ok material... tts enough.... dont have to be like some designer brands.... of cause... those lookalike bags are a different issue =p

again... this post is to share with more people the beauty of online shopping... especially on taobao.... you can find anything under the sun there & at a much cheaper price.... of cause you may have to compromise with the quality... but as long as it doesnt involve food or ingested products... i think it is fine to get abit of sub-standard stuff....

sidetrack abit... currently i am intensively sewing my kimonos.... so i will try to upload the template and instructions soon =)

cloth from taobao

yeah... my 1st batch of taobao items had arrived!!! 6days ahead of the estimated arrival date!!!! anyway, as mentioned previously, i bought some stuff from taobao which are mainly cloth to sew kimonos.... so this batch comprised of 95% cloth....
6kg+ worth of cloth
haha... really quite a large amount of cloth i have over there.... actually the top roll of cloth are the one that are responsible for the weight, those at the bottom roll are actually pretty small & light.... but my favourite is still the red cloth i bought for my wedding shoot kimono!!!
lovely red cloth for my kimono
the print is pretty much the same as what i saw on the website, perhaps slightly on the darker side but still really lovely!!!! the small flowers just make the cloth look super pretty!!!! shall embark on cutting & sewing the cloth soon.... running out of time ar!!!

taobao

havent been blogging for awhile cause the passed week was so busy..... not exactly busy with work but more of busy with online shopping... as i mentioned before in my earlier post that i am a fan of taobao, you really can find almost anything under the sun on the website... furthermore, the cheap prices make it even more attractive to shop on taobao... so that's why i actually stop shopping in SG for at least 2yrs other than getting the necessities...

due to the vast amount of items selling on taobao, i practically spent weeks looking through all the items to get the best deals... for my upcoming project, i am going to sew 3 kimonos... 1 for cosplay, yes... i do cosplay but not the pro kind.... the other 2 will be for my bf & I to be used for our wedding shoot.... i know that some of the bridal shop do kimono rental for photoshoot but i would think the selection will be limited... so may as well get 1 that i like.... i did consider getting the ready made kimono online but a nice & good quality kimono will cost SGD1k or evenmore.... of cause i wont spend the $ just for a shoot... so... DIY will come in.... so after spending the passed few weeks looking at the different cloth on taobao... i finally decided my kimono cloth....
tada... my kimono cloth... i gotten the red 1
it is definitely not the ideal material/design for kimono but this is 1 of the best that i can find.... this cloth cost about 12SGD/m.... i think is cheaper than what you can find it SG but it will take time to ship to SG....
this is what i intend to sew for my bf
personally i had sewn 3 kimono before... is really simple to do it cause is just straight lines... so much simpler than sewing a dress or what.... but you will need quite a large piece of cloth... for kimono, you will need a min 4.5m cloth (110cm width)....but i havent sew a hakama (japanese pants) before, from picture it actually looked not too hard..... so after i gotten my cloth, i will post up some pic & tutorial of how to sew the kimono.... hopefully the final product will be nice =)

taobao shopping!!!

like most girls, i love to shop... which girl doesnt like to look & buy pretty stuff... but the difference is that i have stopped shopping in singapore... the things here are just too expensive & not suitable for my liking... so couple of years back, i have started to embrace online shopping from taobao ... taobao is like a shopping HAVEN!!! you name it, they have it & what makes it best is that the things there are much cheaper than what you can find in singpore or anywhere in the world!!!!... of coz other than china & some other countries....

trust me... after you shopped on taobao, you wont like to shop in singapore... well at least for me... now taobao has started to ship internationally but shipping is still quite expensive so normally i buy through agent then ship my stuff over.... personally i engage daigou service.. i believed there are many taobao agents around now but i am quite happy with their sevices & prices so nah... not going to change another agent... normally i use sea shipping cause is much cheaper than air shipping, approx half price but of cause have to compensate with a longer waiting time.... but hey,.. save $ lea... & normally i will buy things in advanced so sea shipping is my preferred option.....

so now.... back to my this time loot.... muahahaha i LOVE the things i bought.... take a look below...
look at the amount of stuff i bought... 1 coat, 1 knit jacket, 2 top, 1 scarf, 1 hat, 3 pairs of shoes, 8pairs of socks, 1 wallet & 2 necklaces... & guess the total price??? S$300? S$400? S$500???
....................
........................
................................
..........................................
......................................................
...............................................................................
WRONG! everything including the shipping of approximately S$10+ (this time got 50% discount) & 6% agent fee.... all those things cost S$150 in TOTAL!!!! amazing isnt it??? where can you find such cheap stuff in SG? no way!!!! with such amazing price & pretty stuff, how can you not love taobao.... i dont see the reason to resist.... UNLESS you are the "i only want authentic goods & superb quality items" then ok... sorry... high chance you wont like taobao... but... is good enough for me....let me share the close up pic of some of the lovely stuff
my 3 new pairs of shoes... the pink fur boots will be for my taiwan trip... S$5 only!!!!

my pretty shoe... so CUTE!!!

my kawaii peter rabbit socks....

i strongly urge and encourage people to shop on taobao.... my logic is why pay more for something that isnt what i like & when i can find cheaper alternatives.... to end off.. let me share the taobao sellers whom i gotten my stuff from
