Day 7: mishima

*back dated entry*

today our destination was mishima.... i dont think mishima is a popular tourist place but it's actually located in shizuoka, pretty close to mount fuji area.... since i dont want to go through the trouble of traveling to mount fuji, we just view it from afar..... so early in the morning, we traveled from nagano to mishima for a good 3hr ride.....

mishima is actually quite a small station, not many people get off the train so you have to prepare early to have enough time to get off the train before the door closed.... i booked dormy inn hotel which was actually one of the closest hotel to the station but due to the ongoing construction, we had to d-tour abit to the station so it was about 10min walk.... the room was relatively small but i like the idea that they separated sleeping area with the entrance which kind of make the room feel bigger... you noticed that there wasnt a bath tub in the toilet (it's actually a "must" to have bath tub in japanese hotels) but fear not for they have a FREE bath area on the top floor whereby you can enjoy mount fuji view... that's the MAIN reason why i chose this hotel.... but in the end we didnt enjoy the view cause we bathed too late so it was too dark to have a clear view... but nonetheless, it was still relaxing to enjoy a bath especially without sharing it with tonnes of people.... so after depositing our luggage, we went for our lunch & walked around the area....

there wasnt much stores around the station so we settled for this "chinese" food place near the station... the portion & price were pretty decent but the food was too oily.... but have to make do with what you can find.... so after filling our stomach, we walked around the city area....

rakujuen
sadly rakujuen was closed on that day so we had to skip this attraction

mishima taisha

mishima taisha shrine is the most famous shrine in mishima area so naturally we had to visit it....

according to the map there were several sightseeing spot to view mount fuji & i think this view from the river was the best... it was a good day with clear sky so we got a pretty clear view of mount fuji =) with that we wrapped up the tour around mishima... the city area was really small & all the attraction could be reached by walking distance from the train station, so we accomplished our goals before night fall.... personally i felt mishima can be a day trip, dont need to camp there for the night......
