so after i went to collect the wedding invitation cards from jasvy, i went to textile center to get the ribbon then took train down to dreamweaver to select the wedding flavours... we managed to complete the 3 tasks in like 1.5hr... amazing!!! thankfully all the 3 locations are relatively near to each other....do arrange an appointment before you go down... i called in the morning & luckily there is a free slot at 4.30pm so managed to go down on the same day.. yeah...

since i never been to telok ayer street before, i google the location & then based on the map the nearest mrt should be telok ayer (downtown line). so we get off at the station & walk like god damn long before we managed to find the place.... then after that we realised the place is actually slightly closer to tanjong pagar mrt... & it is easier to take train to tanjong pagar than telok ayer lo.... downtown line more expensive ma....

we actually arrived about 10min before the meeting time... so we sat down at the office & look at the staff preparing door gifts... quite interesting actually.... see the aunties tying ribbons on the gifts & packing them into boxes.... anyway there are several choices of door gifts that you can choose from if your wedding is held at FAIRMONT...

 out of the 9 choices, you can choose 2 of them so that they will put at alternate seats.... the first thing that caught my attention was the wedding bell... something very unique but not practical so i didnt choose that.... so after considering for awhile with my bf, we decided to get the chopstick with case & honey... the 2 most practical & useful choices i would say... personally i will choose the chopstick cause i am eyeing the case & use it to put my makeup brushes =)

was really busy the passed month so hardly had time to blog..... so today i will post some back dated entries regarding my wedding preparation

as mentioned before, i went down to jasvy to print my wedding invitation cards about 2wks ago... so after all the email confirmation, my cards are ready!!! they are really efficient... i think it took like 3working days for ivy to call me that i can collect the cards... perhaps i never engaged their ribbon tying services so it kind of speed up the process....

previously i forgotten to take picture of jasvy... here it is... there isnt any signboard or whatever... so you have to recognize the unit number which is #04-06... today i met ivy for the first time.... i think she seem nicer than jason in the sense she gives the more friendly aura..... since i never asked for the ribbon tying... the cards, inserts & envelopes are all separated.... & she put all of them inside a big paper bag.... & 182 cards really weight quite abit...

after that i took bus down to textile center to buy ribbon.... cause me is being cheapo... since tying cause 30cent per cards & that will adds up to $54.60... of cause isnt a large amount of $ compared to the banquet but i want to save as much as possible... in case for those who didnt know... textile center sells quite alot of DIY stuff.... as the name suggest they do sell cloth but i am more interested in the smaller handicraft stuff like ribbons & beads.... & i bought my 50m roll of ribbon for $5.30... each cards will need about 50cm of ribbon, there will be excess but you need the length to tie... so for my cards i need 2.5rolls so i gotten 3 of them... that is $16.05 compared to $54.60.. i saved almost $40... of cause you have to DIY the tying & it wont be as nice as the professionals... BUT i still save $ *yeah*

tada... so that's the final product... i even google youtube video (attached below) on how to tie a nice ribbon lo.... i think it looks ok la... not super pretty but presentable la =)

FINALLY i have gotten my liz lisa lucky bag from my friend!!! she went to japan in July so we managed to order the leftover of the lucky bag.... i would say this isnt the official summer lucky bag cause i have seen it online since spring... but who cares.... just get it!!!

tada!!! i actually saw this bag from qiuqiu blog when she went to japan early this year.... so as expected, the items included will be long sleeve & not so user friendly for summer... but again... who cares!!! for 5400yen = 67SGD, JUST GET IT!!!! let me show what's included in the bag

i wont say the bag include ALOT of things... but for that price... it is really cheap... cause each item cost at least 5000yen, so the total price is more than 15,000yen wor!!!! so if you go japan & see lucky bag... just grab it!!!! UNLESS you know that you totally dont like that brand then that's another story....

the place is kind of ulu... but what to expect.. you need a large plot of land for nursery.... the place is not as hard to go as i imagined it to be... less than 10min walk but definitely not places that i will go normally....

the contact person is dolly & she is like super busy so in order to meet her, you must make an appt.... she is quite a nice lady but really busy so she might seem a bit rushy.....


so for fairmont atrium ballroom, i have 3 themes to choose from... crystal romance, pink romance & 1 more i cant remember..... but i would say the first 2 will be the most popular themes.....

i think both the romance theme is nice but i chose the pink romance instead... pink 1 is more elegant i would say especially for the aisle stand.... for the package you can choose the different colour flowers & slashes (for VIP chairs only)... but the general look will be pink colour... of cause if you want to have specific colour theme, you can suggest to dolly but for me... pink is good =) also you can have some exotic flowers or colours, those will be at additional cost....

for me, i will also need to decorate the solemnisation room... for that the package will cost $80

 the package will include chair slashes for solemnisation table, flower deco for the couple chair, 2 flowers on the table & slash for chairs along the aisle.... of cause you can buy the material & DIY the place yourself but i guess nobody is free & professional enough to do it on the wedding date... so i think this $80 is necessary to pay.... 

again, the discussion can be done via email if you are not very particular about the choices... but i think selection of florist is a must to do down cause you need to see the flower colours... unlike the invitation cards which are more or less standardize.....dolly also mentioned, whatever i chose today, i can still make changes till 1wk before my actual date.... so no worry if you change your mind along the way =)

search for bridesmaid dresses @ city plaza

yesterday went down with the girls to city plaza to search for bridesmaid dresses... initially i thought of getting the dresses from occasion which is like recommended by most bridal stores... but my friend told me that there are more choices at city plaza so we decided to go down & try our luck....

city plaza seem like such an ancient name that most of us wont go down frequently... in fact, the last time i went down to that place was like 10yrs ago... went down with my classmates to get our prom dress.... super long ago.... & when i looked at the building 10yrs later.... it look somewhat different to me but my friend said it is still the same.... anyway the place is like a heartland shopping mall.... no fancy brands but prices are comparatively cheaper than what you can find in town... but maybe need to compromise abit on the designs & quality.... i think the whole place has like 5 floor & they mainly sell clothes.... we just walk around the place & pop into any stores that sell dinner dresses.... i would say they have more variety of long dresses & mummy style dresses than for bridesmaids.... nonetheless we found 2 pretty decent shops...

we came across this store & they sell quite nice dinner dresses... prices around $79.90.... all of us love 1 of the dress there but sadly some of the girls cant fit in.... & the aunty inside the shop is very franks... she keep telling us to keep fit & saying we are fat & have the aunty figure.... i dont think she meant harm but definitely not for the faint hearted....

dresseries is one of the most recommended store that my friend found... they do sell some nice dresses but sadly, they have limited sizes... so in the end we had to make do with the convertible dress... i try to avoid that since it is super common but no choice since that's the only dress with most versatile sizes & colours....

 the model is my very skinny friend so naturally the dress looks nice on her no matter how they tie the slashes.... i think there are more ways to tie & we shall do some research on that later on... i would say this convertible dress is of better quality, is made of chiffon... we saw the other convertible dress which is cheaper & only cost like $38 but the quality is quite bad..... this dress is $68 normally but i gotten a total of 6 pieces so the staff charge it at $55/piece & made a 50% deposit... the dress will take 3-4weeks to come... another thing about this store is that the salesgirl is very friendly & patient.... the bunch of girls were like looking around & us being so indecisive, i think most people would have like ignored us but the salesgirl patiently listen to us & gave us suggestion... she also nicely showed us how to tie the dress... really nice girl =)

after that i met up with another friend + bf to have dinner at city plaza... we try the arnold's chicken!!!

i have heard of the store but never knew where the hell is it... apparently it is like super famous & there is always a long queue... we arrived at 6.25pm... & waited a good 40min before we gotten our seat & food.... the thing is that, this place is more like a fastfood place so i dont understand why the hell i need to wait so long... so i guess there is always the first  time & last time....

so the 3pax set include 9piece chicken, 3buns, 3drinks, coleslaw, fries & mash potato... in short... it is like a pricier version of KFC... the only good thing i would say is the fried chicken... they used very light batter so you wont be eating a thick layer of flour... seasoning is ok but only on the exterior so the chicken breast meat will be super dry.... personally i dont really like to eat fried chicken cause it is oily & heaty but is always good to try new things.... but as a result... i kena sorethroat & cough... haiz..... so, unless you super into fried food, i wont really recommend this store... 

Jasvy - printing wedding invitation cards

after much delay, finally went down to print the wedding invitation cards.... we wanted to do it earlier but my mama said we should not give out the invitation cards prior to Guo Da Li, so we withheld the printing... but the guo ga li date is so close to our wedding, where the hell do we have enough time to give out all the cards by then... so we decided to go ahead with the printing first....

the place is in between Kallang & boon keng mrt but i would prefer to go from Kallang since there is less transfer for me... you can either take a bus which i think is about 2 bus stops from kallang bus interchange or walk & we chose latter....is about a 15min walk if you do it leisurely.... cant remember which exit it is, but come out from the left, walk backwards & walk along the park connector till you reach the main road... walk along boon keng road & you will see kallang place at the junction... blk 30 is the block closest to the bus stop.... take lift to the 4th floor & turn left after you come out from the lift & turn in... Jasvy is at somewhere on the 3rd or 4th unit.... 

prior to going down, we try to get some review on jasvy & there arent much.... but we do notice afew saying that jason isnt very nice, very bo chap, ivy is nicer.... so i contacted ivy but we were greeted by jason.... i think i sort of roll eyes when i saw him due to the bad review but i kept my cool.....so actually if you are rushing or not so particular about the colour & all, you can just do everything via email cause jasvy will send you the template & insert via email... but kiasu me think that it is better & clearer to talk face to face so we went down....

 so you can see that fairmont only has 5 card designs & i would say they are pretty simple & normal... since my mama say MUST use red so i only have 1 choice = red.... as for the inserts you can choose either white or pink paper... so naturally i chose pink cause mama say no white... *roll eyes* as for the wordings.. i think they are pretty standard but you can choose the 2 pictures on the inserts... 

like all hotels, the wedding package will include free cards for 70% of confirmed attendance...  at the moment we have approximately 24 tables so we are entitled to 168 cards & jason suggest us to print 10% more in case write wrongly or whatever... we took his suggestion... so each insert is at 20cent/piece... then the ribbon tying is additional 30cent/card... this 1 i am still considering, again cheapo me want to save $.... although 30cent doesnt seem like a lot of $, for 168 cards, it adds up to $50.40... not say a huge sum of $, but i can get like a roll of ribbons for afew bucks.... but probably i cant tie as nice as them la.... 

the whole discussion lasted like 15-20min.... i wont say jason is as horrible as what the reviews said but he certainly isnt a very patient person.... he does sound abit bo chap & give you the whatever lo feeling... but i think is still manageable since i will see him only twice = discussion & on collection date....

the cards + tying will take approximately 1 week so we are still way ahead of our wedding in Nov... BUT i really want to DIY the tying then i guess it is better for me to start early =)

always wanted to try antoinette pastries cause they all look so nice but cheapo me always find them too expensive & not the mention the long queue during weekends... but today i FINALLY get the try their cake!!! cause my lab mate got a free cake from ANTOINETTE with the bday voucher from citibank!!! yeah!!! & she gotten for us the strawberry shortcake since it is like one of their signature!!!

pretty cake right!!! & you know what's the amazing part? i can smell the sweetness from the cake when we opened the box!!! i was like wah!!! normally those cakes i ate dont have any sweet smell but the ANTOINETTE cake is different!!!! the cream on top is so nice... very light & not too sweet.... i believed it some special cream & not the normal fresh cream... really yummy cake!!! next time i should really go & try their other cakes....

side track abit.. i saw this post by my bro-in-law on the song let it go.... my nieces absolutely LOVE the song & the movie... & i think  the same goes for many kids.... & i think this version is quite unique cause it has this tribal feel... & that small girl voice is like wah... so powerful!!! enjoy the video =)

cheap furniture for SALE

since my parents going to shift to their BTO soon, we need to get rid of some of the old furniture that we had.... so i am going to put up what they want to sell & hopefully some of you will be interested to buy... they are going at really REALLY CHEAP prices....

1. GENUINE leather sofa (FULL leather) @ $80

only selling this piece.... is a long sofa so you can stretch out your leg & rest.... is made of GENUINE leather, so it wont peel... & it's FULL leather meaning the back is also leather... my parents bought it at an expensive price &  it is still in VERY GOOD condition but cant fit into the new living room so had to let go.... GREAT deal!!!

the top part is decolourised due to the sun but other than that, it is still in very good condition....

really useful shoe cabinets... you can see that my shoes almost fill 2/3 of the cabinets....

so above are the things we are selling... we are selling them so cheap not because they are spoil or what... in fact, all of them are in very good working conditions but we had to let go due to the limited space in the new flat.... mama doesnt intend to make a profit from the sale.... just want to transfer these useful items to others.....
